The Aquabats - The Return Of The Aquabats

Review by Azlan Shah A Shafiuddin

The Return of The Aquabats is a fun and energetic album that showcases the band's unique blend of punk rock, ska, and surf music. The Aquabats' quirky and humorous lyrics, along with their catchy melodies and upbeat rhythms, make this album a must-listen for fans of alternative music.

The album kicks off with the high-energy track "Super Rad!", which sets the tone for the rest of the album. Other standout tracks include "Red Sweater!", "Idiot Box", and "Playdough", all of which showcase the band's ability to write catchy hooks and memorable choruses.

One of the most impressive aspects of The Return of The Aquabats is the band's ability to seamlessly blend different musical styles together. The ska-infused "Pizza Day" and the surf-rock inspired "Captain Hampton and the Midget Pirates!" are both great examples of this.

This recording sounds so good. I'm hearing things I've never heard before in these songs. The copy I had back in the day must have been crap.

I have many thoughts...Here's one. It's crazy man has hand farts... Who can record those that well? ME...  I see a lot of hate about this project.. 3.5 hours per song. you do it!!! CD Repo Man. They had 3 mixes of that. The Aqua Bats chose wrong. But hey how about the solo I played... :) Also the band did not get a good mastering to this project.. I did however capture the live excitement of this band. so to the haters raspberry...

So far, I've only heard this and seen an episode of the TV show. I now plan upon collecting their CD's for my collection... of CD's.
