Atjazz - For Real EP

Review by Richard Onell

Atjazz's latest album 'For Real' is an exploration of deep house music that will take you on a journey through the genre's most diverse sounds. The album features a collection of tracks that showcase Atjazz's signature sound, which is a blend of deep house, jazz, and soulful melodies.

The album's opening track, 'Track 1 (Mix 1),' sets the tone for the rest of the album with its smooth and soulful vibe. The track features a catchy bassline, jazzy piano chords, and a groovy beat that will get you moving. The album's second track, 'Track 2 (Mix 1),' is a bit more upbeat with its funky bassline and energetic percussion.

As the album progresses, Atjazz takes the listener on a journey through different moods and emotions. The track 'Track 6 (Mix 1)' is a beautiful and atmospheric piece that features ethereal vocal samples and dreamy synth pads, while 'Track 9 (Mix 1)' is a more upbeat track with a catchy melody and a driving beat.

About Atjazz

British electronic DJ, producer/remixer, and label owner. Born: 1 May 1968 in England, UK. From his misspent youth skateboarding the frontier towns of North Eastern England, Martin Iveson arrived on the UK Midland's scene in the early 1990s, taking a job at then new computer games development studio, Core Design Ltd., which is now world famous as being synonymous with Lara Croft and the series of Tomb Raider games. Not content with this, Iveson left the company 13 years later to concentrate more on his own studio environment. The success of his early works including his first EP "" (1996) leading to the well-received debut album "" (1998); later licensed in Japan by Sony/. The album featured cover artwork by well known Japanese artist , known for his Illustrations and animated cartoons. Two further albums, "" (2001) and its remixed version "" (2002) followed. Iveson has also been a prolific remixer throughout his career, remixing and reworking songs/works for artists such as , , , , , et al., and was even reworked 's "The Pink Panther Returns" for EMI Records. Still remixing heavily, he states it helped to launch his production techniques forward, being perfect for trying out new ideas and breaking the mould within a diluted industry, 'remixing helps to hone your sound and allows the producer to print their trademark into another space'. Production wise, Iveson's trademark sound has been heard on many top class vocalists including , , and , for their own artist album projects, rubbing shoulders with some amazing musicians & producers along the way. He's also teamed up with producer as Version, and they're working on their debut album for label . He also released his third album "" (2008) on his own label . With industry changes, 2009 saw the closure of his Mantis label, and from the ashes the appropriately named imprint rose within the digital realm, concentrating heavily on Iveson's productions and collaborations, and continuing his trademark sound. Iveson remains in demand globally, both as producer/remixer, or as floor-filling DJ.

I have a few tips: Search for Minimal Techno, Berlin Techno, Minimal electronic etc. and also look for music Labels such as: Kompakt (club and experimental), Cocoon (mostly club music), Parquet (melodic techno/minimal), Innervisions (general electronic dance music), Get Physical (general electronic dance music), Echocord (danish dub-techno) ++ and of the top of my head, some similar artists: Gui Boratto, Solee, Estroe, Booka Shade, Henrik Scwharz and so on ;)

this track is absolutely modern deep house genre. It's something quite different than typical deep house music
neko8hp
It's nu-jazz, or electro-jazz. Anyway, that's how this artist is tagged at last.fm .
phrangkharbani
Can't really say it's deep house, it's outside the spectrum of the club context. In other words, not really dance floor material. It got some deep house elements in it however, it's an Atjazz production after all.

@deKlink078 Could you put more links of that kind of cool music , id be very thankful :)

@Magnificozas From my opinion this lays really close to Dub Techno. It's getting harder day by day to 'label' a track to a specific genre since there are so many sub-genre's of House and Techno these days. I could discuss hours with friends about what kind of genre some track is, but now I just call everything Electronic Music..
