Review by Jürgen Driessen

Now That The Thrills Gone by Balloon is an album that showcases the band's versatility and musical prowess. The album is a perfect blend of different genres, including indie, pop, and rock, making it an enjoyable listen for music lovers of all tastes.

The opening track "Close to You" sets the tone for the album, with its catchy melody and upbeat tempo. The album then moves onto slower, more introspective tracks such as "Lost in Translation" and "Ghost Town," which showcase the band's ability to create emotional and thought-provoking music.

One standout track on the album is "The Other Side," which features a guest appearance from a well-known rapper. The song seamlessly blends rap and rock elements, creating a unique and memorable listening experience.

I picked this up from a clearance bin back in the early 90's based only on the artistic cover, and discovered one of the great unheard albums of all time! Basically a two man band with session backups, all of the tunes are memorable and delightful, well crafted pop songs. I've always hoped for a follow-up, I wouldn't hesitate to buy it no questions asked! Now, more than 25 years later, you can't even find the two musicians, Ian Bickerton and David Sheppard, on Google! Man, that is hard to do, the put out one masterpiece and then disappear completely! Balloon, please come back!

Saw them open for a very young Sarah McLachlan in Sacramento in the early 90s. First I'd ever known they existed. Now they are legendary.
