Review by John Jung

Live In Concert, the album by Big Country, is a powerful and energetic collection of live performances from the iconic Scottish rock band. Featuring tracks from their earliest days to their latest recordings, this album captures the essence of Big Country's live shows, which were known for their high-energy performances and anthemic sing-alongs.

The album opens with "Fields of Fire," a classic Big Country track that immediately sets the tone for the rest of the album. From there, the band launches into a string of hits, including "In A Big Country," "Look Away," and "Chance."

Throughout the album, the band's musicianship is on full display, with soaring guitars and driving rhythms that keep the energy level high. The vocals are also top-notch, with lead singer Stuart Adamson's distinctive voice commanding attention on every track.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Storm," a powerful and emotive ballad that showcases the band's softer side. Adamson's vocals are particularly impressive on this track, conveying a sense of longing and heartache that is sure to resonate with listeners.

I drove 15 miles to the only record store in the area that had this VHS in stock. I was 16 yrs and just barely got my drivers license. I called ahead and asked a clerk to put it aside for me. For some reason he declined... saying it's ok no one else is going to want it ( asshole!) I tore ass getting there! Circa 1985.

I used to be a guitarist but arthritis has ended that. I love Stu’s stuff and played a lot in our little band in the 80’s. I always wonder what he would have been producing these days? Miss ya Big Man. I love how he could make a guitar sound like the pipes! ??
