Review by Mert Yazıcıoğlu

Symphony No 3 Gloria Music For The First 127 Intervals Of The Harmonic Series by Branca is an avant-garde masterpiece that pushes the boundaries of classical music. The album features five movements that explore the harmonic series, which is a fundamental concept in music theory. The music is composed of layers of dissonant and atonal sounds that create a complex and haunting atmosphere.

The first movement, "Gloria," is a powerful and intense piece that sets the tone for the rest of the album. The second movement, "Alleluia," is more subdued, with a slower tempo and a more melodic structure. The third movement, "Gloria Patri," is a cacophony of sounds that builds to a frenzied climax. The fourth movement, "Gloria Tibi," is a more introspective piece that features a solo violin.

Glenn Branca (October 6, 1948, Harrisburg, Pennsylvania, USA - d. May 13th, 2018) was an American composer who studied performing arts at Emerson College in Boston. After graduation, he formed two bands - Theoretical Girls in 1977 with Jeffrey Lohn, and later, The Static. In the eighties, his compositions for the Glenn Branca Ensemble included the several symphonies for which he was best known. Branca's compositions centered around multiple guitars - four or more, heavily amplified - augmented by a rock-based rhythm section of drums and bass. In later works, the composer began adding other instruments, including mallet guitar, keyboards, and occasionally a second drummer. Branca's minimalist compositions frequently required unusual guitar tunings.
