Skyshaper, the fifth full-length studio album by Swedish electro-industrial band Covenant, is a masterful showcase of the group's signature sound. The album opens with the pulsing, upbeat track "Ritual Noise," which sets the tone for the rest of the album with its driving beats and catchy hooks. From there, the album takes listeners on a journey through a variety of moods and styles, from the brooding, atmospheric "Pulse" to the dancefloor-ready "The Men." Throughout, the band's use of electronic instrumentation is expertly deployed, with layers of synths and samples building to create a rich, immersive sound. Lead singer Eskil Simonsson's vocals are also a standout feature of the album, with his distinctive voice adding a sense of urgency and emotion to each track. Skyshaper is a must-listen for fans of electronic music, and a testament to Covenant's enduring influence in the genre.

Swedish Dark-Synth/Electro band Friends since the mid-1980s, the members of Covenant released Dreams Of A Cryotank, their first album, in 1994. Line-up at that time: vocalist and songwriter Eskil Simonsson, keyboardist and lyricist Joakim Montelius, and keyboardist Clas Nachmanson. In 1998, after releasing two more albums and a handful of singles/EPs and the demise of their North American label , they started a relationship with distributor with the release of the Euro EP. On July 13, 1999, Metropolis re-released their first three albums and the Theremin EP. While they continue to produce music together, Joakim Montelius and Eskil Simonsson have since taken up residence in separate countries; Montelius resides in Barcelona, Spain while Simonsson lives in Berlin, Germany.

This album was ok. The most memorable and fantastic tracks are Brave New World (personal favorite from the album, and one of my favorite Covenant songs), The World is Growing Loud, 20 Hz, The Men and Ritual Noise. While it isn't as good as their earlier releases, its still worth a listening to.

Just got a hold of the Lim. Ed of this album. One of the best albums of this decade, no doubt! You can really hear that they worked hard on this album and that they even had to go back to basics to sound unique. "Happy Man" is a great example, so simple yet so perfect.
