Review by Muriel Leland

Eddie South's album 1937-1941 is a delightful collection of jazz standards that showcases the violinist's incredible talent and unique style. The album features a mix of upbeat swing tunes and soulful ballads, all played with South's signature flair and virtuosity.

Listeners are treated to a range of styles and moods, from the playful energy of "Running Wild" to the melancholy beauty of "Solitude." Throughout the album, South's violin sings with a rich, expressive tone that draws the listener in and keeps them engaged.

One standout track is "Stardust," a classic ballad that South infuses with his own improvisational flourishes, creating a version that is both faithful to the original and uniquely his own. Another highlight is "Blue Skies," a buoyant tune that showcases South's technical prowess and his ability to swing with the best of them.
