Review by Wiseman Bongumusa Nkosi

The Eugene Ormandy-led Philadelphia Orchestra has released a stunning double album titled Grofé Bizet Grand Canyon Suite Carmen Suite. The first half of the album features Ferde Grofé's Grand Canyon Suite, a piece that beautifully captures the awe-inspiring beauty of the Grand Canyon. The orchestra's rich and dynamic sound is perfectly suited to the grandeur of the piece, and they manage to convey the majesty of the canyon with impressive skill.

The second half of the album features Georges Bizet's Carmen Suite, a collection of popular tunes from his famous opera. The orchestra's interpretation of these pieces is nothing short of breathtaking, and Ormandy's careful direction ensures that each piece is delivered with the right amount of passion and drama.
