Review by Purin Inoue

Florian Zabach's album, Gypsy Fiddler, is a delightful collection of traditional and contemporary fiddle tunes that will transport listeners to a world of lively dances and heartfelt melodies. With his virtuosic playing and expressive phrasing, Zabach showcases his mastery of the violin, infusing each track with passion and energy.

The album opens with the lively "Gypsy Love Song," a classic tune that sets the tone for the rest of the album. From there, Zabach takes listeners on a journey through a variety of styles, from the hauntingly beautiful "Dark Eyes" to the rollicking "Orange Blossom Special."

Throughout the album, Zabach is accompanied by a talented group of musicians who provide a rich and varied backdrop for his fiddle playing. The arrangements are skillfully crafted, with each instrument adding depth and texture to the overall sound.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Czardas," a Hungarian folk dance that showcases Zabach's technical prowess and musical sensitivity. The piece begins with a slow, mournful melody before gradually building to a frenzied, foot-stomping finale.
