Review by Eclectic Theater

Old Inventions is the latest album by the Canadian folk band, Friends of Fiddler's Green. The album is a delightful mix of traditional and contemporary folk music, showcasing the band's mastery of the genre. From the lively fiddle tunes to the haunting ballads, every track on this album is a testament to the band's musical prowess.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Ballad of Stompin' Tom," a tribute to the legendary Canadian musician. The song is a rollicking tribute to Stompin' Tom's life and music, and the band's infectious energy and enthusiasm make it impossible not to tap your feet along with the music.

Another highlight of the album is "The Last Saskatchewan Pirate," a humorous song about a modern-day pirate who roams the Canadian prairies. The song is a perfect example of the band's ability to blend traditional folk music with contemporary themes and humor.
