This is probably a taboo comment… can you play Jazz? Like some Drum Boogie

I'm not as old as the record but I received as a gift from a grandparent the record about 1969 and probably belonged to my dad's sister. I was playing 40's style boogie in 1971, and I had my classmates in band class cheering me; it was like heaven to me.

I never knew Gene Krupa dedicated “Drum Boogie” to my great uncle, Victor “Vic” Moore (The Wolverines drummer & Gene Krupa’s “Idol”! WOW!

Had to look up this song to hear it which I first heard it from the movie, "Ball Of Fire" (1941) and Barbara Stanwyck was singing it while in the audience was Gary Cooper getting into the song and writing it down on a piece of paper.

You can see how early rock and roll evolved out of swing pretty easily

Peggy thinks he’s groovy but Sam doesn’t know him! (Anyone read Once An Eagle)

My parents kept their old 78s and I played them a lot as a kid in the 1960s. This one was a big fave of mine.

When you see today's drummers, so-called drummers with their match grips and their need to raise the sticks two feet above the skins to create a sound they are a joke, Rich, Krupa, Tough, Page, Webb, I could go on for ever, these are drummers, these are the ones who people who understand music and drummers know are drummers, the rest are, I will not say it 'cos I am too much of a gent...

His band was one of the hottest of the dance/ swing/ jazz era but doesn't get the historical significance it deserves.
