Untitled by Jack DeJohnette's Directions is a brilliant album that showcases the incredible talent and musicianship of this jazz legend and his band. The album features a collection of original compositions and covers that blend together seamlessly to create a cohesive and dynamic listening experience.
From the opening track "One for Eric" to the closing number "Serpentine Fire," the album is full of intricate rhythms, complex harmonies, and virtuosic soloing. DeJohnette's drumming is the driving force behind each track, providing a solid foundation for the rest of the band to build upon.
The rest of the band members - saxophonist Ravi Coltrane, keyboardist George Colligan, and bassist Matt Garrison - are equally impressive, each bringing their own unique style and energy to the table. The chemistry between the musicians is palpable, resulting in a cohesive and tight sound that is a joy to listen to.
