Jamaican Rocksteady vocal group formed in 1964 (the first time they took this name, it was at Kingston's Havana Club concert in 1964). they start with 5 members (with the name "The Mericoles") and end up as a classic trio (at the time). They made their first recordings for in 1965 with on the label. They won a first contest in 1963 with "until the dance through ()" and another in 1966 with "Ma and Pa ()" and in 1967 they won the famous "Jamaican Festival Song" with "Baba Boum ()" with the "Mighty Vikings".
