Review by alex vedrov

The Rubini Collection by Joseph Hislop is a masterpiece that showcases the vocal prowess and artistry of one of the greatest tenors of the 20th century. The album features a collection of 20 songs, including some of the most popular arias and songs from operas and operettas.

The album opens with the famous aria "Una Furtiva Lagrima" from Donizetti's L'elisir d'amore, which showcases Hislop's warm and expressive voice. His rendition of "La donna è mobile" from Verdi's Rigoletto is another standout track, with Hislop's voice soaring effortlessly over the orchestra.

The Rubini Collection also includes a number of lesser-known songs, such as "Lasciami! Lascia ch'io respiri" from Gluck's Orfeo ed Euridice and "Je crois entendre encore" from Bizet's Les pêcheurs de perles. Hislop's interpretations of these songs are simply stunning, with his rich and velvety voice imbuing each one with a sense of emotion and depth.
