Lee Hazlewood - Trouble Maker

Review by Adriana Nastasha

Lee Hazlewood's album Trouble Maker is a masterpiece of storytelling and musicality. The album is a collection of songs that showcase Hazlewood's unique voice and his ability to weave together tales of love, loss, and longing. The album is a mix of country, rock, and pop, and Hazlewood's distinctive voice is the perfect complement to the music.

The album opens with the title track, "Trouble Maker," which sets the tone for the rest of the album. The song is a rollicking country tune that tells the story of a man who is always getting into trouble. Hazlewood's voice is full of swagger and confidence, and his lyrics are witty and clever.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "The Girls in Paris." The song is a haunting ballad that tells the story of a man who falls in love with a woman in Paris. Hazlewood's voice is full of emotion, and the music is simple and understated, allowing the lyrics to take center stage.

Another standout track is "I Am You Are," a duet with Suzi Jane Hokom. The song is a playful and flirtatious conversation between two lovers, and the chemistry between Hazlewood and Hokom is palpable.

I remember this song playing on the radio, but not sure what he was trying to say at the very end.

The sad thought is that this was an act against institutional abuse, but now those causing institutional abuse are using this idealism of youth for their own means. Ironic

Biggest plot twist by far, once i heard the ending i was shook & had to re-listen to it. Absolutely in love with the way you listen to it with a completely different perspective once you know the last line

My wife has sang this song for me and has been trying to find this recording.  She heard it when she was a child and remembered the voice distinctly, I found several recordings, but she kept saying, "no, no...that's not the one I remember."  Finally found it!  Thank you, and she thanks you for posting it.
