Nanci Griffith's album Lone Star State Of Mind is a beautiful and soulful tribute to her Texas roots. The album features Griffith's signature folk-country sound, with her heartfelt lyrics and smooth vocals shining through on each track.
The album opens with the title track, a catchy and upbeat tune that sets the tone for the rest of the album. "From A Distance" is a poignant ballad that showcases Griffith's storytelling abilities, while "Love At The Five And Dime" is a sweet and nostalgic ode to small-town romance.
Griffith's cover of Townes Van Zandt's "Tecumseh Valley" is a standout track, with her gentle voice and acoustic guitar creating a haunting and melancholic atmosphere. "The Wing And The Wheel" is another standout, with its soaring chorus and beautiful harmonies.

I finally got my hands on this CD and listened to it several times over time, then once closely. I found I enjoyed it more compared to the several others from before and after this period, and therefore felt compelled to give it what I felt was its due: 5 stars.

I always thought the original version of 'From A Distance' was by Bette Midler I was shocked when I discovered that Nanci Griffith was the original singer the best version of 'From A Distance' is by Elaine Paige.
This one of my three favorite songs . Grow up during the 30 years of Civil War the song name From a distance . When turn into " Boat People " the song America & " the Rose " for finish college the English classes & got an A+. Thank you to Bob Marshall share this mp4 with lyrics.
