Review by Emerson Anjos Comunicação

Osada Vida's album, The Body Parts Party, is a compelling and well-crafted musical journey through progressive rock. The album features a diverse range of tracks that are both intricate and accessible, showcasing the band's impressive musicianship and compositional skills.

From the opening track "Body Language" to the closing number "Strange Ideas," the album's songs are filled with complex rhythms, soaring melodies, and dynamic arrangements that keep the listener engaged throughout. The band's use of keyboards, guitars, and drums is particularly noteworthy, as each instrument is given space to shine while also working together to create a cohesive sound.

One standout track is "Lack of Dreams," which features a hauntingly beautiful vocal performance from guest singer Marek Majewski. The song's lyrics are introspective and thought-provoking, adding an extra layer of depth to an already impressive composition.

**9.5/12**I am happy to say that this album will conclude my purge of albums with "Body Parts" in the title. After conceiving an idea for a concept album revolving around body parts in the same way Pink Floyd does with *Animals*, I decided to do my research on albums with the name "Body Parts" and anything that may be similar. So far, this album is the most similar to my idea, at least in terms of having each track named after a particular body part. However, the execution of my songs and the narrative to my album are entirely different. But, this was nice to see that a progressive concept album would bear a similar idea.I adore that this album explores different emotions through progressive rock and progressive metal under the theme of body parts. "Muscle" has a solid bravado through its guitar riffs and "Heart" has a soft approach and sort of sensitivity to it.I love every track but not a lot necessarily stick out as bangers to me. I've listened twice and intend on relistening and furthering my journey into Osada Vida's music with *Three Seats Behind a Triangle* next. I love their music and love prog with a passion. This album resparked my desire to jump into the progressive genre and listen to the classics as well as the hidden gems. This band gives me Dream Theater vibes without the aggressive complexity of their progressive metal mixed with Pink Floyd but without the psychedelic space rock. ALBUM ARTWORK:The artwork is great. The sepia color scheme mixed with intense yellow/red/orange colors are fantastic and I love the grainy texture, almost looked like craquelure or pointillism. I love the muscular anatomy/x-ray of this person, showing us the different body parts we expect to hear in the song as well as see the flame and life burning from the heart of the person, to represent the emotional energy behind the body parts. Also, the dull and grayish/sepia tones very present in the picture symbolize much of the album, while being very good, faults in its repetition of style. A lot of it sounds the same, but this could also be from not listening several times and being unfamiliar with the individual tracks. The font is alright as well. It's kind of cheesy, but it also kind of fits, creating a rigid and formal tone. The font of the band name stands out, being foreign and almost folklore-esque. I think it's interesting, but also probably fairly common among progressive metal album typography. With this folky feel, it might better suit a progressive folk album. Lastly and most fascinatingly, the wing of the person. I don't know it's place or purpose but it looks awesome and contrasts the dull color and ordinary anatomy of the rest of the cover. Maybe this evolution into a winged-arm is metaphorical for the album evolving beyond standard rock or metal into the progressive genre. Maybe it's a representation of the transformation of the body parts/music/emotions into something else. Artwork review: 9.6/12
