Review by Saransh Chopra

The album The Virtuoso Recorder by Philip Pickett, Anthony Pleeth, and David Roblou is a stunning collection of baroque music that showcases the incredible talent of these three musicians. The recorder, a woodwind instrument that is often overlooked in classical music, takes center stage in this album, with Pickett's virtuosic playing and Pleeth's rich cello accompaniment creating a beautiful and intricate sound.

The album features pieces by some of the most famous composers of the baroque era, including Bach, Handel, and Vivaldi. Each piece is expertly arranged and performed, with Pickett's recorder taking on the melodies and Pleeth's cello providing a rich and supportive foundation.

One standout track on the album is Bach's Sonata in G Minor, which features a stunning duet between Pickett's recorder and Pleeth's cello. The two instruments weave in and out of each other, creating a beautiful and complex musical tapestry.

Einfach wunderbar!

The instrument at 409 sounds so nice, much better than raised to 415 ones.

Nicolas Chédeville made a secret agreement in 1737 with Jean-Noël Marchand to publish a collection of his own compositions as Vivaldi's. Long attributed to Vivaldi, the set of 6 sonatas tOp.13 ; RV 54-59 are actually the work of Chédeville ...

Lovely, lively performance! My own personal recital! For my ears only! The velvet sound emanating from the treble recorder is exquisite! When these marvelous instrumentalists show what they can do, i solo or meshing together as one, the effect is stunning! Each is expertly accomplished; a pleasure to hear alone, and as a ensemble raising Cain to the rafters! Their luscious melodies echo throughout the sanctuary, salon or recital hall. Many, many thanks! Your choices in the Baroque are always thrilling and pleasing to the heart!!
