The Pongos - Feelin Good

Pongos Youth Choir has been around since 1991 when it was started up by Richard Pomfret. He was its musical director until Christmas 2005 when he moved away from the area. Since then Pongos has continued to make fabulous music led by Liz Milner until July 2008 and Moira Morrison from Sept 2008. They sing all sorts of music, usually in several parts (2 to 8!)sometimes accompanied, sometimes a capella. There's nothing they won't tackle if it's good - from local folk songs to Finnish and Hungarian songs, from ancient to modern, from tranquil to rousing! There are currently around 16 members who rehearse from 7 to 9 each Wednesday evening during term-time at Ponteland County Middle School. Pongos would like to recruit some new members, so if you are looking for a friendly group to sing with, come along to a rehearsal and try it out.
