Review by Michael Eisbrener

Smarty Pants' album EMc Hammer is a delightful fusion of classic hip-hop and modern electronic beats. The album features catchy melodies, clever lyrics, and a unique sound that sets it apart from other releases in the genre.

From the opening track "U Can't Touch This" to the closing number "Too Legit to Quit," Smarty Pants keeps the energy high and the party going. The album is filled with infectious hooks and memorable choruses that will have listeners singing along in no time.

One of the standout tracks on the album is "Pump Up the Jam," which features a driving beat and a catchy chorus that will get anyone moving. Another highlight is "2 Legit 2 Quit," which has a funky bassline and an uplifting message about staying true to oneself.

About Smarty Pants

For nine years Smarty Pants wrote and played songs all over Oklahoma and other various parts of the south. People never knew what they might see with these guys. Their costumes varied from Harlem Globetrotter outfits, clear plastic bags with lights on the inside, Elvis-impersonator-suits, faces-on-their-shirts, space fairies or otherwise. Generally speaking, Smarty Pants always tried to keep the viewer interested visually as well as musically................................................................................................................ Smarty Pants list of recordings is a long one and they were always quick to release something new that the fans wouldnt be expecting. If anything, Smarty Pants tried to keep their loyal fans happy, and provide affordable recordings. Obviously, not so much as to rake in the bucks, but as to reward them for their interest and get their music out to anyone who would listen................................................................................................................. The spark of interest came from a few far and away places. Smarty Pants got to be on a compilation by famed Abuse Records in the UK. Their first full length CD, e=mc hammer, was released on North Carolina based cult label: Opulence Records. Smarty Pants made friends, often provided shows and places to stay for various touring bands passing through Oklahoma. Another CD compilation inclusion was put out by Dos Sensenseous zine from Texas. Much needed help and attempted spiritual guidance was provided for many years by LA based cykik.com Management.................................................................................................................. But it was their die-hard local-Okie following that put the biggest twinkle in Smarty Pants eye. Few local bands can say they have fans who know most of the words to their songs. Or get several praised write-ups in the local newspapers and magazines. Or would have the support of the generous local/national label, Little Mafia Records, who released the bands final full length CD, Annoyager. Or the friendship (perhaps respect) of many local bands and the few good all-ages clubs. Or writing the theme song to the midnight movie show, Has Been Heroes.
