Review by Estelle Yates

The album Wasted Words by the Canadian indie-pop band Stars is a captivating and introspective collection of songs that showcases the band's signature sound and lyrical depth. The album is a mix of upbeat anthems and somber ballads that explore themes of love, loss, and self-discovery.

The opening track "From the Night" sets the tone for the album with its catchy melody and introspective lyrics. "This Is the Last Time" is a standout track that showcases the band's ability to craft emotionally charged ballads. The song features haunting vocals from lead singer Torquil Campbell and a beautiful piano melody that perfectly captures the song's melancholic tone.

Other standout tracks on the album include "No One Is Lost", a driving anthem that encourages listeners to embrace life and live in the moment, and "Turn It Up", a catchy and upbeat track that celebrates the power of music to bring people together.

Founding members were Glyn Dowding on drums, Malcolm Eastick on guitar and vocals (both formerly of Adelaide bands Astra Kahn and Flash), Mick Pealing on vocals (Flash); and Graham Thompson on bass guitar.
