Review by Vaughn Ripley

Supertramp's album is a masterpiece of progressive rock, blending complex instrumental arrangements with thoughtful lyrics and soaring melodies. From the opening track, "School," with its intricate piano and guitar interplay, to the epic closer "Crime of the Century," the album showcases the band's formidable musicianship and songwriting prowess. The standout hit, "Dreamer," is a timeless classic with its catchy chorus and poignant lyrics about chasing one's dreams. Other highlights include the introspective "Hide in Your Shell" and the playful "Bloody Well Right." Supertramp's album is a must-listen for fans of classic rock and progressive music.

About supertamp

Formed in the Dutch town Groningen in the late seventies as a theatre trio the group slowly but surely evolved into a full blown band with the songs clearly covering homosexual themes. The name Supertamp more or less gave the game away; Tamp is slang for penis/cock. The group's theatre background made sure that the live shows had the songs tied into a concept, mostly with songs about being gay in a dominantly hetero orientated society. Their most successful show had a number of songs released on a studio album called 'Jongensland' (boys land). The group disintegrated after a string of line up changes.
