Venom - Storm The Gates

Venom, the iconic British heavy metal band, has returned with their latest album "Storm the Gates." The album, released on December 14, 2018, is a high-octane and electrifying collection of tracks that showcase the band's signature sound.
From the opening track "Bring Out Your Dead" to the closing number "The Mighty Have Fallen," "Storm the Gates" is a relentless onslaught of heavy riffs, thunderous drums, and aggressive vocals. The band's founder and frontman, Cronos, delivers his trademark growls and snarls with ferocity, while the guitar work of Rage and Dante is nothing short of impressive.
The album's standout tracks include the anthemic "Notorious," the thrashy "100 Miles to Hell," and the epic "Dark Night (of the Soul)." The latter is a haunting and atmospheric track that showcases the band's ability to create a dark and foreboding mood.

Ever since the first departure of Conrad Lant from the line-up, Venom have always been an excuse to cash in as much as possible, and now, propelled by a record contract with Spinefarm Records (in line with Nuclear Blast, Metal Blade, Napalm Records etc. in terms of distribution and trend-chasing), they sound so desperate that instigate compassion. Now reduced to Lant's solo project, they continue to unleash simplistic, un-technical Punk Metal as in 2018's Storm the Gates, which has neither the catacomb-like recording, the youthful exhuberance or the appreciable ignorance of their first two releases.No, this is another over-produced mess with all too precise playing, dissonant plagiarizing from Blut Aus Nord ("I Dark Lord"'s initial augmented triads) and slow, somnolent ultra-filtered musicianship that only shows how much this project lives on with touring only. Most of the songs are composed by repeated two patterns and that's it: it's unnecessary to sign out one of them, since they sound all identical to themselves.When you've got contemporary albums by Midnight, Evil and even the equally useless Hellripper that sound way better than this thing recorded by six-year olds, that's truly saying something. And no, the "this is old-school metal" excuse doesn't count anymore, as Venom is fully categorized in metal mainstream.
Venom started out great and get even better through time.
I can't take him like that. It's against regulations.

Even though the other two original members claim to have written the majority of their early classics, it's the Cronos who kept the Venom flag flying! He's the ultimate charismatic frontman and w/o him, there is no real Venom. It's like Motorhead w/o Lemmy, almost. Tony "the demolition man
