Volition's self-titled album Volition is a strong and impressive debut effort. The band's sound is a blend of heavy metal and progressive rock, with intricate guitar work and complex rhythms. The opening track "Descent" sets the tone for the album, with its fast-paced riffs and driving rhythms. "Fractured" is a standout track with its intricate guitar work and soaring vocals. "The Great Unknown" is another highlight, with its catchy chorus and dynamic shifts in tempo.
Throughout the album, the band shows a willingness to experiment with different sounds and textures. "Solitude" is a haunting acoustic ballad, while "Reverie" features atmospheric keyboards and a more melodic approach.
