@Troy Lewis for real? Respect man!
Memories I designed the back cover of dis Joint..
Absolutely knock out... Love love love love love ????
I LOOOVVEE THIS ALBUM!!!!! I bought the cd ... maybe 5x in the 90's. It would get scratched, or my friends would borrow it, or I would somehow lose it. The fact that they only did one album, still to this very day breaks my heart.
this is the most soulful, groovy, funky song I've heard
PLUS these chicks BELTING vocals on top
what else could you ask for?
what a JAM

Sublime...
Simply sublime.
My old crew :) Ealing London Massive
If only you knew how special this choon is to me, not only musically (it would be in my Top 10 of all time, without question) but also socially, reminiscent of a very special era - the clubs, the people, the drugs, the girlfriend, the whole time/way of life. My residency of the Red Eye (thank you Mr Easter BTW ) was like the culmination each week of my social life; all my friends went there, we had the same libertarian outlook on life, dug the same grooves. A truly magical time, probably the best of all eras I've partied through.
This tune was an absolute killer drop at the club week in, week out. I had a white label of the album well upfront, being something of a mover and shaker in those days, and adored it - as did my righteous audience thankfully!
Now then, you'll note this mix is called the Musiquarium Mix which just so happens was the name of Norman's Monday night gig at the Bass Clef in Hoxton. Sav, Marcus and other Red Eye righteous folk extolled this Monday night session but my mind set was "what the fuck? A Monday night? You're having a laugh". Long story short, I did eventually attend and thereafter never missed a week (I think I posted the story of my first visit on FB some time back). Sardine City on the floor, the atmosphere laced with collie, and Norman the only lucky MF to have the full version complete with that beatless string breakdown, bastard! :) The expectancy of the gently tickering rhythm signifying the drop to come as the groove powered back in for another five minutes or whatever! Wow, wow, wow! As euphoric in this London Beat gig as any anthemic House cut in a rave, it rocked the joint beyond comprehension. And Norman had it for months all to himself with the Bass Clef the only place you could hear it. Eventually I was lucky enough to secure an acetate of said mix, one of the select half dozen to get a press, and ripped the arse out of it as you'd expect! (Being an acetate I really did wear it out, in time it ended up sounding bloody awful lol but thankfully by then a proper vinyl run had manifested).
So, er, yeah. A special groove this. :)

The dogs bollocks.
Lovely
I first heard this absolute song in a club called Base Clef in Hoxton. I was going home and then Norman Jay played this song, and it just went on and on , i was on my way out and this song just kicked in again,i couldn't believe how perfect it sounded, even now. I love this song so much. I remember when i finally did leave me and my friend went to Ridley for bagels and the cabby wanted 35 pound, I couldn't stop laughing at him what a night.
The god in me and the beast in me. And all deep things come up to light; And I would barter my soul to be. The prize of love for a single night.
Classic Album! Simply beautiful
Life saver! Many thanks for the post!
