Fumaça Preta - A Bruxa

Review by Anna Bours

Fumaça Preta's album A Bruxa is an exhilarating and eclectic mix of psychedelic rock, Afro-Latin rhythms, and electronic experimentation. The band's unique sound is characterized by the haunting vocals of lead singer Alex Figueira, the hypnotic beats of drummer Antonio J. Mendes, and the wild guitar riffs of Bnann Watts.

From the opening track "La Trampa," which features a pulsating groove and a catchy chorus, to the closing number "Toda Pessoa," a dreamy ballad with a Brazilian flavor, A Bruxa takes listeners on a thrilling sonic journey. Along the way, Fumaça Preta explores a range of styles and influences, from the funky "Vampiro" and the frenzied "Pepas" to the atmospheric "Apelo" and the trippy "O Espelho."

One of the album's standout tracks is "Decimo Andar," a haunting and hypnotic song that showcases Figueira's powerful and emotive vocals. Another highlight is "Pupilas Dilatadas," a dark and brooding track that features a menacing bassline and eerie synths.
