Review by Mirage Screen Systems

The Stockholm 1981 Recordings by Moondog is a must-have album for fans of avant-garde music. This collection of live recordings captures the eccentric genius of Moondog, the blind composer and musician who was a fixture on the streets of New York City in the 1950s and '60s. The album features Moondog's signature blend of classical, jazz, and Native American music, performed on a variety of instruments, including his own invention, the trimba.

The recordings were made during Moondog's visit to Stockholm in 1981, where he performed at the Royal College of Music. The sound quality is excellent, and the performances are full of energy and spontaneity. Moondog's unique voice is on full display, as he sings and chants in his distinctive style.

The album includes several of Moondog's best-known compositions, such as "Bird's Lament" and "Lament 1 (Bird's Lament)." These pieces showcase Moondog's ability to create complex and beautiful music with minimal instrumentation. The album also includes several improvisations, which give a glimpse into Moondog's creative process.
