Soviet Space Programme's latest album, Space Is Hell, is a thrilling journey through the vast, dark expanse of outer space. The album's industrial, electronic soundscapes are haunting and otherworldly, evoking a sense of isolation and dread that perfectly captures the loneliness of space travel.
From the opening track, "Spacewalk," the listener is transported into a world of cold, metallic sounds and eerie, disembodied voices. The album's use of samples from actual space missions adds an extra layer of authenticity to the already immersive atmosphere.
Tracks like "Interstellar Medium" and "Black Hole" are particularly effective in creating a sense of foreboding, with their pulsating beats and ominous synth lines. Meanwhile, "Orbiting the Moon" offers a brief respite from the darkness with its dreamy, atmospheric soundscapes.
